Auditions for the 2008 Summer Stages season, production of Bugsy Malone

will be held on Monday, May 12 at NORD Ty Tracy Theater, Gallier Hall, 545 St. Charles Ave. Southern Rep Theatre, 3rd Floor, Canal Place

Auditions are by application and appointment only.

Callback auditions will be held on Tuesday, May 13, and Wednesday, May 14.

Cast members in grades 4th through 12th are being sought for both summer productions. All roles open.

CCLYT's only summer show (May 19 through August 10) is Bugsy Malone, the musical based on the 1990's films about kid gangsters from the 20's. This show was a huge hit when NORD producted it in the 1990's.

DEADLINE: This completed application form which can be downloaded below with ALL ATTACHMENTS must be received

by 5:00 p.m., Friday, May 9

Repeat - ALL auditioners must complete the audition application with ALL attachments and they must be received by fax or mail by Friday, May 9 by 5:00 p.m. No walkins. Incomplete applications WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

A $10 audition fee must be paid at the time of the audition.

Fees

The Crescent City Lights Youth Theater is a fee-based program covering only 1/5 of the cost per student.

Our fundraising efforts cover the remaining 4/5's of the cost.

There is a $10 audition fee payable at the time of the audition. Tuition for the production is $325. Tuition in full must be received by May 19th.

Financial Aid

Financial need scholarships and flexible payment options are available, based on need. Applications are available at auditions, online or by contacting our office. A word about tuition - The City of New Orleans Recreation Department is generously donating the use of the NORD Ty Tracy Theatre at Gallier Hall. We do not receive any operating funds from the City of New Orleans' Recreation Department. Crescent City Lights Youth Theater employs all of the artists and staff needed to make the show a success. However, it actually costs 5 times the tuition paid by each family to put on the show. That’s why Crescent City Lights is raising money to make this show and future shows happen for the children and families of New Orleans.
